Try this simple stretch routine to relieve your neck tension.

Forward and Backward Tilt
Make sure that you are sitting or standing straight. Slowly tuck your chin to your chest, hold it for about 15 seconds, and then roll your head backward to look at the ceiling for about fifteen seconds. Repeat as often as needed throughout the day.

Shoulder Roll

While this can be done as you sit, it is often more effective when you stand. With your hands straight down by your sides, simply move your shoulders in a forward circle around five or six times before repeating in a backward rotation.

Clasped Neck Stretch

Sit up straight and clasp your hands behind your head. Slowly and gently push your head down with your chin tucking into your chest. Breathe deeply about five to eight times, or around 30 seconds, before gently rolling your head back up.

Ear to Shoulder

Keeping your posture intact, slowly tilt your head toward your left shoulder. If possible, touch your ear to your shoulder. Do not go so far that you are in pain, just until you feel a good stretch. Hold the stretch for about ten seconds before repeating on the other side.

Side Rotation

Sit up straight with your head facing forward. Gently rotate your head to the right, holding for about 15 seconds once you feel a stretch before slowly turning your head forward again. Repeat on the left side, aiming for ten sets.
